in selected water bodies of Wigry National Park
1. Amateur fishing in Wigry National Park is allowed only with a fishing
rod.
2. Spear fishing and using spear-guns is forbidden
3. Fishing is allowed on lakes: Wigry, Pierty, Leszczewek, Omułówek, Czarne
near Bryzgiel, Czarne near Gawrych Ruda, Mulaczysko, Postaw and Czarna
Hańcza river, within the park’s borders, between the villages of Czerwony
Folwark and Studziany Las, on the basis of a bought license.
4. Fishing fee is waived for young people under 14, who can fish within
their own fishery and day limit, but only under supervision of a person who
owns the fishing license.
5. Fishing and boating is allowed only during daytime, that is from sunrise
to sunset according to calendar.
6. Fishing from boat is allowed from May 1st to October 31st,
and can be done only from a boat registered in accordance with the existing
legal regulations and according to the safety standards for Inland
Navigation.
7. Angling from shore is allowed only in places with no growing reeds.
8. Fishing from boat or from shore is allowed only with two regular fishing
rods or a spinning rod on terms determined in point 12 of the regulations.
During winter ice fishing is allowed with two rods with a float. Ice
fishing with artificial bait is allowed only with one fishing rod.
9. It is forbidden to posses or use any kind of groundbait.
10. Fishing with the use of a living or dead fish as a bait is forbidden
all year long.
11. Fishing european catfish (Silurus glanis), common whitefish (Coregonus
lavaretus), lake trout (Salmo trutta m. lacustris) and brown trout (Salmo
trutta m. fario) is forbidden all year round.
12. Fishing pike and spinning (without trolling) is allowed only on lakes
Wigry and Pierty from May 1st to September 30st.
On other water bodies fishing pike, trolling and spinning is forbidden.
13. Fishing on Czarna Hańcza river is allowed below lake Wigry within the
borders of the park. On a stretch from Wysoki Most to the park’s border in
Studziany Las only using a float, fly lure and plant lures is allowed.
14. Minimal sizes of fish:
• roach – 15 cm
• perch – 15 cm.
• bream – 25 cm.
• eel – 50 cm.
• pike – 55 cm.
• other species according to regulations of amateur fishing of Polish
Angling Association
15. Quantity limits per day (00:00-24:00)
• pike - 1 fish per day
• eel, tench, zander, grayling, asp – 2 fish per day
• bream - 10 fish per day, but no more than 10 kg
• chub - 1 fish per day
16. It is allowed to take up to 5 kg of fish species do not mentioned above
per day.
17. The limits do not apply to amur, silver carp, prussian carp, rainbow
trout and brook trout.
18. It is required to register all the fish taken from fishery. The fishing
registry is an integral part of a fishing license and it should be filled
in accordance with the provided instruction.
19. Other issues concerning fishing in Wigry National Park not stated in
those regulations are determined by regulations of the Inland Fishing Act.
20. Violation of the above regulations results in loss of license without
compensation and sanctions determined by the law.
21. Staying in the area on Wigry National Park one must obey the rules
listed in Director’s order concerning availability of Wigry National Park’s
area for touristic, scientific, recreational and sports purposes.
